Benny Stixx has once again raised eyebrows in the industry with his latest remix. As he has done in the past, Benny transforms a current radio hit into an infectious Baltimore club creation. Benny pieces the vocals with the instruments flawlessly and you can’t help but nod your head as soon as the beat drops.
Following the success of “Bmore Boom”, DJ Excel’s Bmore refix of The Black Eyed Peas hit that’s become a staple on mix shows worldwide, comes a remix of Britney Spears’ “If You Seek Amy”.
Excel provides that Bmore bounce and gives the not-so-subtle “If You Seek Amy” (figure it out if you haven’t already) a subtle but still definitively Authentic Baltimore Club refix treatment.
Already spinning on the hottest mixshows…Here is what they are saying:
“DJ’s have been looking for another baltimore club record to play after ‘I’m The Ish.’ This is that record. This record works for any crowd, in any market.” – DJ Chris Styles (Sirius XM “The Heat” & HOT 99.5 FM)
WOW!!!! Excel with that NEXT….AGAIN!!!!!- DJ Scottie B (Unruly Records)
Baltimore’s own DJ Excel doing it again with a nice Baltimore spin on this Britney Spears cut. The Bmore Refixes are gonna make some noize in the industry!KW Griff (92Q FM)
“This is how it was back in the day, these are some of the breaks we used to chop-up before we got to our records and all that stuff, this just all the party records…”

The Bum Squad DJz announced yesterday that their newest member is Bmore Original Records’ very own DJ Excel. “It’s nothing short of an honor” says DJ Excel, “the Bum Squad Djz make or break records, they get things done, and make things happen, and I’m happy to bring my skills into the fold.” The announcement comes within a month of fellow Bum Squad member DJ Booman’s team-up for touring and digital distribution with Bmore Original and signifies but one more healthy and fruitful collaboration between some of the Mid-Atlantic’s heavy hitters in the Club and hip-hop scene.
Recently put into Club mix rotation on Baltimore’s WERQ 92.3 and Washington DC’s HHIT 99.5, “Bmore Pow”, DJ Excel’s “refix” of The Black Eyed Peas’ hit “Boom Boom Pow” grabs the touches of Bmore Club in the original and expands them into a true Bmore Club classic. A decidedly Baltimore spin on a national hit, Excel weaves crashing drums and stuttering vocals around the Peas’ vocals before doing away with them altogether for a glowing coda that pays tribute to his hometown.
DJ Excel’s latest single “Bounce” blew-up within hours of its appearance of his MySpace—shades of immediate hype for “That’s What a Pimp Does”! The song itself, is a two-minute sprint of hipster rap and hardcore Club based on Kid Cudi’s hit single. Excel wraps shout-out samples around those paranoid synths and slowly but surely buries the whole thing beneath layers of Bmore Club breaks, making something oddly familiar and wholly new at the same time. Bmore Original, Baltimore’s first digital distribution center for local music will soon be the place to purchase and download some Baltimore Club classics from DJ Boo-Man, KW Griff, and Jimmy Jones aka The Doo-Dew Kidz. Check here for more information in the coming days
